HERSHEY!!!

I had the opportunity to visit Hershey Park recently!  I actually prefer that park to both of the Disney World parks and I have been to both of them.  Hershey is  constantly upgrading their rides especially the Roller Coasters!!  If you love Roller Coasters, serious Roller Coasters, this is the place to go.  Now there is also a fabulous Water Park and a Giant Wave Pool too.  We were there on the last day so it was very busy.  There were car license plates from everywhere in the country and beyond I am certain.  Actually I did hear many different languages being spoken while [...] Click To Read More

First Time Home Buying Today

Many people believe that first time home buying today is ideal. Today home prices are lower than they have been in years and affordability levels are extremely reasonable with mortgage rates that are hovering at 60 year lows, just barely above 4%. First time home buyers are in a great position indeed. Of course first time home buyers need to have great credit, money for a down payment, and a steady income, but if all of these needs are met it’s a great time to start shopping for a home. What should a first home buyer consider when looking for [...] Click To Read More

EARTHQUAKE IN SOUTHERN PA!!

I was sitting at my desk on August 23, 2011 early afternoon as I recall and all of a sudden what sounded like 100 giant army tanks seemed to be rumbling down my street. The whole house started creaking, the china cabinet was rattling, and I turned around and saw my dining room chandelier swinging back and forth as if someone had just pushed it. In less time than it took to write this far I realized “We are having an EARTHQUAKE!!” Of course I went straight to the Internet to confirm it and it was there telling me that [...] Click To Read More

Real Estate, Time to Listen?

When it comes to real estate these days has the time come to listen to the headlines that are blaring “Time to Buy!” and “Great Time to Invest!”? Let’s face it, if you have the money to do so investing in real estate should be tempting. Mortgage rates have dropped, again, having gone from 30 year lows to 60 year lows. What does this mean? Money is cheap to borrow, which means financing costs for real estate are lower than they have been in years. Another great reason to invest in real estate? Rents around the country are increasing along [...] Click To Read More

Sellers Tend To Overprice Homes

Current home sellers who purchased their homes after the housing boom overprice their homes at a higher rate than those who purchased before or during the boom, according to a recent Zillow survey. Home sellers who purchased their home in 2007 or later overprice their homes by an average of 14.1 percent while those who purchased a home before 2002 price their homes approximately 11.6 percent over market value. Those who bought between 2002 and 2006 price their homes 9.3 percent above market value. A similar sentiment prevails for homeowners who plan to sell their homes over the next four [...] Click To Read More

RAIN, RAIN, GO AWAY!!

Wow, what rain is coming down from the skies!  Part of the hurricanes I guess, I forget which one!  Just had the grass mowed and it needs it again after this deluge!  We have been fortunate to have no real flooding here.  Certainly not like some other states that we have seen on TV!.  Many people in the area have been without power; we lost power for four hours on Friday.  Some people in the area were without power for days.  That is a tough thing to deal with for certain.  Makes you wonder what did we do before all of [...] Click To Read More

Real Estate, Technology Alluring

Real estate today is accented by technology in the home, alluring to buyers and beneficial to sellers. Newer homes are often accented by everything from futuristic light witches to control pads on the wall that operate in-home media systems. Often lights, heating, and alarm systems can be accessed through smart phones from across the country. Technology has changed and homes that flaunt this change have a leg up on the competition. Today’s consumer is used to having instant access to information, which has spread into a desire to having everything instant, from hot water to light and beyond. Technology in [...] Click To Read More
